Summer Jams that go to 11

Our office is right in the heart of the Third Ward, which means we were right in the middle of a certain humongous music festival that just wrapped up. With our windows open and the wind is right, we could just about make out a few notes coming in from the lakefront.

So, since it’s summer and music is in the air, we’re sharing a few of our favorite summer jams. The kind that make us want to stop what we’re doing, crank the volume, and dance like the world is our own private picnic table. (If you know, you know.)

And, this probably goes without saying but some of these tracks are for earbuds only. That is to say, NSFW. Listen responsibly!

Rebecca:

Lizzo - Juice

Also, Lizzo's Truth Hurts. And Good as Hell. Basically her whole catalog.

Dylan:

Bon Iver -Hey, Ma

Plus, Lizzo's Juice and Steve Aoki - Just Hold On

Paul:

Noisia Radio

Kashif:

Bill Withers - Lovely Day

Milan:

Connie Price & the Keystones - Play that Song

Kevin:

UGK (Underground Kingz) - Int'l Players Anthem (I Choose You) ft. OutKast

Eric:

No one song captures summer for me, but I’ve got a Summerfest jam: Circle by Big Head Todd & the Monsters. I’ve seen this band more times at Summerfest than any other band, and this is their signature song.

Lenore:

Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)

Ryan:
A couple of my favorites are Lou Reed’s Rock ’n Roll and Jane’s Addiction cover of Ripple.

If you don’t see a song from your favorite CID-er here, just go ahead and assume their favorite song is this wholesome, legendary summer jam:
